Hospital Appointment Delays

The Coronavirus pandemic has had a big impact on the NHS, millions of outpatient appointments and treatments have been delayed due to this. When patients have contacted the hospital they are sometimes told to ask their GP for a letter to expedite their appointment. From our experience, when the GP sends these letters it rarely results in your appointment being brought forward. Unfortunately we, as your GPs, do not have a great influence on the hospital waiting times.
